On Saturday, Oct. 16, 2015, the town of Chestnut Hill transformed into the magical village of Hogsmeade as it held the annual Harry Potter Festival to celebrate the iconic books and their growing impact on social culture.

In its fifth year, the festival showcased several events and activities including a Harry Potter Conference, Defense Against the Dark Arts classes, samplings of butterbeer and most importantly, the college’s “Brotherly Love” Quidditch Tournament.

“Part of the hype around Harry Potter is that there was always anticipation for when the next book would come out or when the next movie would come out,” said Emily Schademan, Director of Student Activities at Chestnut Hill College.

“The festival is a way to kind of satisfy that interest or that need. People can dress up. People can come out and watch the tournament because they really want more Harry Potter.” SocialMedia
